Easter Egg and Ripple Afghan in progress

I have been working on this ripple afghan for a week or so now.  It is for my 19 year old son, who expressed that he wanted his own afghan after seeing the one for my 8 year old son.  This one is going to take me a while….probably more than the 2 months it took for the other.  Its all single crochet with increases and decreases to create the ripple effect.

While working on the above afghan, I definitely need to mix in smaller projects so that I don’t get bored.  Last night, I made this Easter Egg hot pad for my mom.  I think it came out pretty cute. 🙂  It was challenging using 3 strands of cotton yarn at once.  I also kept cramping in my left hand.  But it only took about and hour or so to create so I sucked it up. LOL

  1. Hi — saw your site on Alphainventions (I still haven’t figured this site out – guess I need another cup of coffee!) and being a fellow crocheter, thought you’d like this cool little baby cap. I’ve made several of these and like the fact that you can make one sitting in front of the TV in about 1 1/2 hours! Anyway — nice to find your site and I’ll be back to visit again. Here’s the link if you’d like to look at the pattern — scroll down toward the bottom of the page. Love your Easter egg!!

  2. I have loving the colors of that afghan! Very manly but hey I would use it too! LOL!

And the hot pad came out soooo cute! Your mom will love it!

  3. Hi Pat,
Sorry I haven’t commented in a while but I’ve been dropping by to see what you’ve been creating. I love the afghan that you are making for your older son. I’ve recently finished some lovely scarves for a couple of friends and I think they turned out well. I’ve been taking a crocheting class and that’s been going well except that I have to race over there after work and I miss about twenty min. of the class.

Hope you are doing well and that you have a great Easter Holiday!

    Deanna 😀
